The Near Northside is made up of multiple neighborhoods just North of Downtown Houston. Some of the neighborhoods located in this area are:

The Near Northside is a great place to live because of its diverse community of people, and cultures. With many neighborhood amenities, and its fantastic location within the city of Houston it's the perfect location for young professionals and retirees. The large number of families with children and thriving Latino culture has led to a strong sense of community. Housing is affordable, Moody Park and the bayou trails provide green space and numerous recreation opportunities. The neighborhood is served by a variety of community education, youth, and cultural facilities. The famous local family-owned Mexican restaurants continue to thrive while embracing others like French, Thai, Italian and more.
The location is adjacent to downtown Houston but has the advantages of a residential neighborhood. It is located within the southern portion of the greater Northside area of the city, within the inner loop. Downtown is just minutes away via car, bus or using the hike & bike trail along the bayou. The MetroRail Red Line extension of the light rail has put the neighborhood back on the map, and will help attrack new residents and businesses.
